Design of Shotcrete and Nail Systems
Shotcrete and nail systems consist of shotcrete or sprayed concrete onto the rock or soil face, installed in panels. Typically, prior to installing the panels a nail or steel bar is drilled into the soil or rock to provide lateral support. Shotcrete panels are installed by skipping every second or third panel. This type of excavation support is installed as the excavation progresses as opposed to soldier pile and lagging or caisson wall where the vertical drilling is installed prior to excavation.

Design of Micropiles
Micropiles are by definition bored piles that are 300mm or less in diameter. They transfer vertical or lateral loads from the superstructure to the soil or rock below. This type of deep... Read More
Design of Sheet Piling System
Sheet piling systems consist of driving or vibrating steel sheets into the ground to the desired depth, or to rock or a less impermeable soil layer. Sheet piles are installed... Read More
Design of Utility Support
Utilities that cannot be removed and relocated in excavations need to be supported. These supports can vary depending on the geometry of the excavation and the excavation.... Read More
