Essa Road Expansion
As part of the extensive reconstruction efforts aimed at enhancing traffic flow and safety, the Highway 400 and Essa Road interchange underwent significant improvements.
Key highlights of the project include the expansion of Essa Road to six lanes within the interchange, a pivotal enhancement for the City of Barrie. Additionally, this project encompasses the replacement of the Highway 400 overpass structures along Essa Road, further bolstering infrastructure resilience and efficiency.

Services Provided
InGeo Design provide the design of the excavation shoring system to support the interchange reconstruction. Our solution, comprising soldier pile and lagging supported by tiebacks, was crafted to accommodate the project’s phased approach. Specifically, our design accounted for the construction of the east and west bridges in Phase I, followed by the middle section of the bridge in Phase II. In addition to our design expertise, we conducted comprehensive field reviews to ensure seamless execution and adherence to project specifications, contributing to the successful realization of this infrastructure upgrade.
