Underpass
Adelaide Street North had four lanes of at-grade traffic across the Canadian Pacific Railway tracks. An underpass for the train tracks was underway to help alleviate traffic delays due to the closure of Adelaide Street North while the trains cross this street.

InGeo Design team worked with Bauer Foundations Canada and designed a caisson and soldier pile lagging system to support the active CN train tracks. A temporary bridge bear on the caisson wall systems to temporarily support the tracks prior to building the permanent abutment walls. This system consisted of two levels of struts/ tiebacks. A shaft with an 11m diameter and 13.5m depth with mainly caisson wall was designed for this project too.
We also designed a permanent caisson wall to act as a soil support system adjacent to the proposed sidewalk. Our team conducted regular site visits to verify that the overall construction adhered to the specified design parameters.
