InGeo Design provided critical excavation shoring and monitoring solutions for this 12-storey mixed-use residential and commercial development by Canderel Group, located at the northeast corner of St. Clair Avenue West and Alberta Avenue in Toronto. With two levels of underground parking and a constrained urban footprint, this project demanded precise engineering, fast decision-making, and seamless collaboration across disciplines.

Leveraging our diverse project experience and offering direct access to senior engineers, InGeo delivered shoring designs with rapid turnaround. Our role extended beyond design, incorporating strong monitoring programs and detailed pre-construction assessments to mitigate risk and protect adjacent structures.

• Excavation support for two deep basement levels in a tight, urban site

InGeo’s Role & Scope

• Fast-tracked design of excavation shoring systems, including soldier piles and lagging, and caisson walls
• Design of lateral supports such as tiebacks, rakers, and corner braces to ensure excavation stability and deal with no encroachment on two sides of the excavation
• Pre-construction condition surveys of surrounding properties to assess and manage risk
• Full monitoring services, including: Pile and precision monitoring, Inclinometer installation and tracking of ground movement, Vibration monitoring and Crack gauge monitoring
• Flexible design modifications to address changing site conditions
